THANKS A LOT SONNY BOY!

Once again, Governor Perdue is sticking it to the people who got him elected. He already has signed budgets that cut a combined $1.6 billion in state formula funding to local school systems. Now, his solution to the state’s budget crisis is to grant a temporary waiver to school systems so they can JAM as many students into one class as possible rather than have to hire additional teachers. So, classrooms that now have 28 or 32 students could have upwards of 40 students.

It’s unbelievable to think that education is so low on the priority list that our legislators continue to cut, and shrink, and cannibalize our budget in order for other areas to prosper. It’s absurd that the same legislators can look educators in the face and expect “No Child to be Left Behind”.
